Our Leaders

Loxley Presbyterian Church is a proud part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) and part of the government of the PCA is that Elders are to be established in each church and to be set over particular duties in the church. They are elected by the congregation and are to help govern the worship of God and to uphold the form of church government and discipline.

Statement of Faith | What We Believe

Loxley Presbyterian Church is part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).  As a church which is a part of this particular denomination and body of believers, we subscribe wholeheartedly to the infallibility and inerrancy of Scripture, the deity of Christ Jesus, and the glorious truths of the gospel! We thankfully and joyfully proclaim, “God saves sinners!”

Committed to the Bible
First, we are committed to the Bible, God’s inerrant and infallible word, as the final authority for faith and life. We view the faithful preaching and hearing of God’s Word as essential to growth in the Christian life.

Committed to the Reformed Faith
Second, we are committed to the Reformed faith, as set forth in the historic Westminster Confession of Faith and Catechisms (Shorter and Larger). This is the most prominent version of the seventeenth-century Protestant statements of faith. The doctrines of grace of our Confession are beloved to Christians because they are biblical and emphasize the sovereignty of God in salvation. “God saves sinners” is the rich motto of the Reformed faith.

Doctrine
In our doctrine, we defend the "Five Solas" of the Reformation.
Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone)
We reaffirm the inerrant Scripture to be the sole source of written divine revelation, which alone can bind the conscience. The Bible alone teaches all that is necessary for our salvation from sin and is the standard by which all Christian behavior must be measured.
Solus Christus (Christ Alone)
We reaffirm that our salvation is accomplished by the mediatorial work of the historical Christ alone. His sinless life and substitutionary atonement alone are sufficient for our justification and reconciliation to the Father.
Sola Gratia (Grace Alone)
We reaffirm that in salvation we are rescued from God's wrath by his grace alone. It is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit that brings us to Christ by releasing us from our bondage to sin and raising us from spiritual death to spiritual life.
Sola Fide (Faith Alone)
We reaffirm that justification is by grace alone through faith alone because of Christ alone. In justification Christ's righteousness is imputed to us as the only possible satisfaction of God's perfect justice.
Soli Deo Gloria (God's Glory Alone)
We reaffirm that because salvation is of God and has been accomplished by God, it is for God's glory and that we must glorify him always. We must live our entire lives before the face of God, under the authority of God and for his glory alone.
